Last night, our good friend Jeff came over and dragged me off the couch. Beth and I went over to his place to watch the sunset and eat dinner. He grilled an amazing dinner to go with the amazing sunset. We had scallops, rib-eye, filet mignon, lamb chops, corn, peppers, pineapple, zuchinni, and eggplant!

Here's Jeff doing what he does best:

Here's the sun doing what it does best:

Here I am finally out of the house:

And here's one of Beth:

We got a stroller yesterday - it's called the Chicco Cortina. It is so exciting! Here is Beth modeling:

Here is a link to the furniture that we ordered:

  • Sheffield Crib

  • We're getting the Lifestyles crib that converts into a toddler, day bed, and full-size bed. We also got the combo dresser.
Last night our wonderful friends came in and helped us out by painting the nursery. Tom, Lori, Josh, Lindsay, David Gray, and Dave Mishoulam. It took less than an hour with so many people helping and it was so exciting for me to see the finished product. Now we're just waiting on the furniture which will hopefully arrive by the end of July. Here are some pictures!

Today I went to the doctor and they removed my bandage. I took this video of what it looks like. You can see a large incision in the middle where they went in to line the bones up. There are two small taped incisions on the inside of my leg, one near my ankle, and one by my knee, which is where they put in the screws. The screws anchor the rod to the bone and keep it from twisting. Finally, there is one larger incision on my knee which is where they inserted the rod.

I don't have a bandage anymore, but I still wear a protective boot and can't put any weight on it. My next doctor's appt. is in 6 weeks. Beth will be about to pop by then! The doctor said that everything is going well. I'm now allowed to go back to work, but only from home.

I went to get an X-ray today. It was the first time since the surgery that I left the house. I got to see what they did to my leg for the first time. I found this X-ray on the web that looks pretty close to what I saw:

Mine has two screws at the top by the knee, and one at the bottom, near the ankle.

This is an illustration of the tibial nail that was put in my right leg:

I see the doctor on Monday, and I expect to be given permission to start working full time from home.
